Essential Responsibilities: 1. Welcome guests 2. Verify age 3. Take food and drink orders 4. Suggest menu items and answer questions 5. Initiate and maintain appropriate conversations 6. Serve food and drinks 7. Serve guests responsibly 8. Verify that food/drink items exceed guest satisfaction 9. Anticipate guest s needs 10. Learn names of regulars 11. Maintain bar-pre-bus, cap ashtrays, detail, etc. 12. Answer the telephone when necessary 13. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following company recipes 14. Enter food and drink orders on the point of sale terminal 15. Prepare, present and receive payment for guest checks 16. Set up bar for daily operation 17. Cut fruit for garnishes 18. Assemble bar dishwasher and/or compartment sinks 19. Wash and sterilize glassware; monitor glassware to ensure safety 20. Stock straws, beverage napkins, utensils, beer, wine, liquor, glassware, juices, waters, coffees, mixes, coolers and roll-ups 21. Maintain bank balance; submit POS verified cash drop 22. Clean shelves, coolers, rails, bins, mirrors, wood, bottles, lamps and floors. 23. Maintain all bar equipment 24. Follow company policies and procedures 25. Verbally communicate with managers, co-workers, guests, and the general public in a positive manner 26. Serve alcoholic beverages and obtain and maintain a liquor card if state law requires. Skills & Abilities: Able to see at a distance (20 feet), at close range (12 inches), distinguish between shapes, and utilize peripheral vision to avoid potential hazards Able to hear in one or both ears so that verbal communication can be received, understood and acted upon Able to read, write and perform addition/subtraction calculations Able to remember abbreviations, menu items, regulars names Able to bend, handle, carry, lift, reach, wipe, climb and stoop Able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours Physical Demands: Light Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists up to 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
