Position Overview:

The Quality Control Inspector – FM is responsible for the accurate and efficient review of aircraft flight and maintenance data from Pentagon 2000, Fleet Management (FM) Planners, vendors, and other Aircraft Fixed Based Operations (FBO) to ensure airworthy aircraft.This position assists Fleet Management and Quality Control to ensure compliance with Customer, FAA, and Repair Station standards. It also provides oversight to the Logs & Records Production Control Clerks and audits aircraft flight logs. The Quality Control Inspector – FM is a direct report to the FM Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, verifies and approves applicable aircraft documentation for aircraft release from maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alterations of articles or specialized services in which FAR Parts 43, 91 and 145 apply, and with manufacturer’s data, drawings, specifications and bulletins, or other technical data.

  • Reviews maintenance source documents, aircraft inspection records, reports recurring discrepancies or trends to appropriate management and section for action.

  • Tracks approved aircraft scheduled inspection extensions for completions.

  • Assists aircraft service suppliers with corrections or clarification of required aircraft maintenance documentations.

  • Assists FM Group with technical directives concerning aircraft records compliance.

  • Updates aircraft maintenance work scopes on MRO tracker system.

  • Performs reviews on aircraft flight log data input on MRO tracker system.

  • Coordinates with FM Supervisor and Lead on quality issues as required.

  • Ensures that FM Supervisor and Lead are made aware of any aircraft logbook issue(s) that may affect the airworthiness of the aircraft.

  • Works assigned shift or schedule outside normal duty hours andtravelsas required.

  • Incumbent performs other job-related tasks, as assigned and required duties/tasks included in the employee's performance evaluation elements are essential to that employee's position within the job classification.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Valid certificate issued by the FAA with both Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) ratings desired.

  • Experience: 5 years progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

  • Experience: 5 years of experience as an A&P mechanic and/or Aircraft Logs and Records equivalent with at least three (3) years of experience at the level of making airworthiness and return to service decisions.

  • Able to demonstrate a working knowledge (both fixed and rotary wing experience is desired) of applicable regulations for the return to service of maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alterations of articles or specialized services in which FAR Parts 43, 91 and 145 apply, and with manufacturers data, drawings, specifications and bulletins, or other technical data.

  • Aircraft Maintenance MRO Tracker system experience desired.

Some travel will be required.
