This position is located within the 136th Airlift Wing, Fort Worth, .Fort Worth, Texas The purpose of this position is to serve as a Distribution Manager, which provides technical expertise and support relating to the movement of equipment, supplies, and personnel for both peacetime and wartime. Manages, directs, develops, plans, and analyzes deployment and distribution management programs.

Responsibilities

As a TRAFFIC MANAGMENT SPECIALIST (Title 32)with the Texas Air National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Serves as the sole technical transportation advisor to all statewide or base operating officials on all matters dealing with commercial movement of personnel and equipment.
  • Manages all materiel distribution activities, including organic ground transportation for cargo and personnel.
  • Ensures that traffic management and transportation services required to support the mission are accomplished.
  • Inspects, or provides for inspection of, commercial carrier terminals to locate and expedite delivery of astray government shipments.
  • Reviews, as required, individual paperwork associated with a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Personally Performed Moves (PPMs) to ensure requested reimbursement on charges are in line with a commercial PCS move.
  • Coordinates with functional managers to ensure assets (i.e., reusable containers) are accounted for, serviceable, properly stored and maintained for deployment.
  • Procures domestic and international travel for both military and civilian passengers.
  • Exercises supervision over subordinate employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned..

Appointment Factor(s):This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Air National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Texas Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Texas Air National Guard. Qualifications

To be considered for qualification, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting the following:

Specialized Experience Required To qualify at the grade level, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting 36 months experience, education, or training performing, administering or supervising technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs. Experience interpreting applicable Federal, State and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Knowledge of transportation requirements and systems for specific geographic areas (International and Continental United States).

Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:Education alone will not qualify at the GS-11 level

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in fields listed below leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements. Education -Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
