Lockheed Martin Material and Process Engineer Associate in Fort Worth, Texas

Description: This position is for a Composites Materials Engineer working in the Fort Worth Materials and Processes (M&P) Common Services group. Primary program ties will be to the F-35 Program.

Job responsibilities will include providing composite materials support to domestic and foreign co-producers, applying knowledge of polymers, resins, laminate layup and processing, reviewing engineering Build To Packages (BTP), supporting in-house and supplier production operations, creating and maintaining entries for M&P databases, evaluating new materials for production use, creating and maintaining composite material and process specifications, interfacing with material manufacturers, and developing and overseeing of test plans. In addition, the applicant will be responsible for determining releaseability of technical documents and specifications.

Must possess or be able to obtain a US passport, and be willing to travel both within and outside of the US.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and will require a Secret clearance after starting.

Basic Qualifications:

BS in Materials Science or Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited college.

Desired Skills:

Candidate should have Previous Industry Experience. Internships/Co-Op/ University Industry projects will be considered.

Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English Language.

Experience working in Materials and Processes Engineering on Aeronautics Programs is a plus.

Experience working with carbon/graphite or glass composite materials is a plus.

Education or training in statistical analysis and polymer composite processing,

Experience with issues related to inserting new technologies into production programs is a plus.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to work with and communicate with other Engineering disciplines.

Ability to work individually and/or collaboratively on multiple concurrent projects.
