About the Position: The position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in the Department of Nutritional Care. Production and Services Branch serving food in a cafeteria setting and delivering meals to patients within established time limits.
Clean dish room and pot and pan areas to include countertops, dishwashing machine, dish racks, tray return, scrapping sinks, and pot and pan machine.
Maintain proper manual dishwashing sinks in accordance with established procedures and temperatures.
Serve as a cashier, operating the point of sale register system, collecting cash from customers, making exact change, and safe guarding cash.
Store service ware, equipment, and supplies in an orderly manner.
Deliver meals to patients within established safety and sanitation procedures.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) without more than normal supervision. Perform a variety of maintenance and cleaning duties in the dish room, pot and pan, server area. Disassemble tray returned from dining area. Dispose of waste in accordance with established safety and sanitation procedures and temperatures. Set up and maintain proper manual dishwashing sinks in accordance with established procedures. Serve food in cafeteria setting and replenish food in self service area. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Areas are often uncomfortably warm and noisy. Incumbent is subject to injuries from equipment used and slippery floors; exposed to dirt, grease, and water in cleaning tasks. Incumbent is subject to extremes in temperature of hot kitchens and walk-in refrigerators. Shift work may be required by the position.
