SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor must demonstrate core skills, which include understanding of company safety policies and adherence to our Principles of Conduct and Action guidelines. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and is a member of the site Leadership Team. The primary objective of the Maintenance Supervisor is to ensure the efficient operation of the equipment through the safe supervision and execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise & work planning of the maintenance personnel

  • Participation in plant improvement programs (5S, TPM, etc.)

  • Maintain control of departmental budget through monitoring of stores replenishment & repeat tasks

  • Establish a maintenance presence & awareness on the production lines

  • Track meantime between failures and OEE

  • Establish improvement goals

  • Ensure departmental safety permits are properly completed

  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC and Ladder logic systems.

  • Provide training to improve maintenance core skill level

  • TPM champion

  • Demonstrate leadership in departmental safety initiatives.

  • Participation in cost savings projects

  • Management of corporate standards throughout department and plant

  • Involvement in departmental continuous improvement project, 5S, Level II OEB’s

  • Participation in development and review of JSA/SOP’s

  • Involvement in EHS Systems & EHS Committee

  • Management of continuous improvement project

  • Responsible for all line mechanical & electrical equipment unplanned delay digging efforts and communication.

  • Responsible for documenting top 3 delay on standard maintenance crew daily report.

  • Collaborate with team to identify and eliminate repetitive delay causes.

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree (Technical degree preferred).

  • 3 to 5 years’ supervisory experience, as well as exposure in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Tools (Six Sigma, 5S, Visual Factory, LEAN).

  • Knowledge of mechanics and electrical systems.

  • Understanding of production processes.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.

  • Demonstrate competency in troubleshooting & programming of Allen Bradley PLCs and VFDs, and/or similar equipment.

  • Demonstrate leadership in departmental safety & environmental initiatives including but not limited to; ensuring direct reports/contractors are compliant with all safety & environmental requirements and leading safety discussions, huddles, meetings, etc.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of the organization.

  • Must be computer literate, and have knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma.
