POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bank Administration department in the El Paso office currently has an opening for a Business Operations Sr. Analyst position. The Sr. Analyst is responsible for preparing operations analyses including analysis of competitors, operational effectiveness, and capacity utilization and makes recommendations for improvement. This role develops process analyses, designs and simulations. This role requires a solid understanding of the organization`s business operations and industry and possesses strong analytical skills.

The Sr. Analyst provides statistical information to ensure the most effective utilization of personnel, equipment and materials for operations. This role may track, maintain and provide current information on the operation`s business scorecard. This role will also be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts studies, prepares and executes recommendations to improve effectiveness, efficiency, costs in operations, workflows, and methodologies

  • Leads or completes project work of moderate complexity and priority

  • Leads team with writing, editing, proofreading, and interpreting various documents, including procedures and audit/compliance results, to ensure accuracy and consistency

  • Assists department and/or management in preparing budgets and gathering budget data, preparing forecasts and projections, writing narratives and entering data into the budget system

  • Monitors department expenditures and prepares regular reports for management

  • Generates measurement systems and reports designed to improve forecast accuracy

  • Provides work direction and training to less experienced analysts

  • Assists in the coordination and leads the audit/compliance efforts, including taking an active role in the planning, execution, and completion of audit/compliance reviews, policy and procedures assessments, and other business process reviews

  • Revises assessment scope as necessary to deal with unanticipated situations encountered

  • Researches and interprets requirements from the Board of Governors and related authorities, as well as emerging or evolving best practices and trends both in the System and in the industry, and presents recommendations to management, with the potential to execute recommendations

  • Designs and develops management reports, briefing materials, and presentations which satisfy informational needs of the business unit

  • Works independently, receives minimal guidance

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a major in Business Management, or related field is preferred

  • Coursework in operations management, budgeting, and accounting is a plus

  • 5 years of experience of related professional work experience, with a focus on audit, compliance, budget, process improvement, and/or research, or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience

  • Experience with creating and/or maintaining electronic collaboration resources a plus

  • Strong experience researching topics and gathering data.

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of internal control concepts, including detailed knowledge in one or more of the following fields: audit, compliance, budget, process improvement, or research; along with tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization’s operational processes and related risks

  • Strong writing skills, including the ability to write clearly, correctly, and concisely

  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, planning, and self-management skills

  • Ability to analyze and report various operational or ad hoc data

  • Strong meeting organization and facilitation skills; ability to present effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as governance groups

  • Ability to assimilate and apply new information quickly

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including speaking clearly and confidently when communicating with stakeholders from support staff to upper management

  • Relationship management skills with the ability to handle conflict and strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and influence

  • Ability to work on more than one task at a time and demonstrate a sense of urgency

  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and various software packages, including MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, Project, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

  • Equivalent education and / or experience may be substituted WORK HOURS AND CONDITIONS:

    Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; additional hours may be required based on business needs; some travel may be required up to 10% of the time
