Baylor Scott & White Health Senior Medical Writer in Dallas, Texas
The Senior Medical Writer provides high-level writing and editing support including intellectual contributions to Baylor Scott and White Health researchers and senior leaders for the development of grants, manuscripts for high impact journals, book chapters, abstracts, and posters, and national quality award applications. This support includes copy-editing, assistance with major revisions, and authoring as requested. Essential functions for the Senior Medical Writer role are as follows:
Conducts literature searches and synthesizes information to create background sections for proposals and manuscripts
Provides copyediting support, assists with major revisions, and author sections as requested by the PI
Manages the development and submission of manuscripts by engaging authors in writing and editing process
Drafts and authors manuscript sections as requested
Drafts and edits sections of quality awards and prepare final applications for submission
Collaborates with senior leaders within Baylor Scott & White
Collaborates with statisticians, data managers, project managers, and researchers to obtain the necessary data
The ideal candidate will have medical writing experience, strong written and oral communication skills and have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat Pro and Photoshop. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work independently to prioritize and accomplish goals with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will effortlessly establish and maintain effective working relationships, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently to meet timelines.
