What You Will Be Doing

  • Work with other engineers (software, systems, mechanical, electrical) as part of a focused cross-functional team developing robotic systems for medical applications

  • Design, simulate, implement, and test robotic algorithms and software (kinematics, dynamics, controls, etc.)

  • Interface with low-level robotic hardware controllers.

  • Design and implement software in a real-time, safety critical environments.

  • Design and implement software prototypes, components, and applications that are flexible and capable.

  • Quickly implement concept proofs and prototypes, and test on systems.

  • Evaluate new/existing technologies for suitability and integration into systems.

  • Participate in design discussions and code reviews.

What You Need for this Position


  • Strong experience in robotics algorithm design and development.

  • Knowledge of robotics control architectures.

  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing software for safety-critical surgical robotic systems.

  • Proficiency with C/C++ programming and multi-threaded applications.

  • Experience with real-time software and event drive architectures.

  • Experience with industrial control networks such as EtherCAT.

  • Excellent software engineering habits and ability to write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills. Must have a demonstrated ability to effectively and clearly communicate concepts, ideas and knowledge to other individuals and teams.

  • Ability to work in a regulated environment in compliance to FDA and ISO requirements.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

  • Familiarity with computer vision.
