Please review the following job description:

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing, managing and supporting all activities of the claims department and operations of the Lloyds binding claims department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  1. Oversee Lloyds of London claims, assign adjuster, review reports and approve payments under the appropriate binding authority. Work closely with London brokers and syndicates.

  2. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with agents and adjustors.

  3. Organize and disseminate information that affects the claims department to ensure necessary changes for compliance purposes.

  4. Control workflow process through Claims Coordinators reviewing allocation of staff to ensure productivity and quality standards meet or exceed expected goals.

  5. Review, analyze, track and take appropriate action on losses in order to provide account loss ratios and claims history to senior management.

  6. Provide input on design and implementation on various policies and procedures for the claims department.

  7. Prepare monthly claim’s reports and forward to appropriate parties.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  1. College degree with a concentration in business or risk management or equivalent work experience

  2. Minimum of THREE years of Claims handling experience required, commercial and multi-line knowledge

  3. Maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry and Claim’s processing ideas through regular attendance of workshops, seminars, literature reviews and/or formal continuing education

  4. Ability to make independent decisions following company guidelines with minimal or no supervision

  5. Good organizational, time management, and detail skills

  6. Extensive knowledge of insurance,

  7. Ability to maintain a high level of tact and professionalism

  8. Excellent leadership skills to influence departmental Employees in a positive manner

  9. Possess strong interpersonal skills

  10. Strong verbal and written communication skills

  11. Strong computer and office skills

  12. Ability to work extended hours when necessary

Desired Skills:

  1. Prior adjusting experience
