CyrusOne Network Engineer in Dallas, Texas

This position will be a key member of our team of engineers that is responsible for the delivery and operation of our customer facing IP and interconnection network. This position will also provide direct support for the Senior Network Engineering team which includes implementing architectural changes and implementations.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for monitoring the CyrusOne ticket queue and processing requests in a timely fashion dictated by business.

  • Provisioning

  • Troubleshooting

  • DNS support requests

  • General customer support requests.

  • Maximize network reliability by monitoring logs, evaluating network connectivity requests, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with peers to identify issues before they impact service.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 tier 2 technical support for network operations.

  • Actively participate in the CyrusOne change management process.

  • Manage DNS internal and external requests.

  • Manage and update network diagrams, policies, procedures, and CyrusOne databases as needed.

  • Support Senior Network Engineering team with updating and introducing new policies and procedures. Process change requests delegated from the Senior team.

  • Participate in regular ongoing team meetings.

  • Responsible for staying up with the latest technologies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5 years practical network engineering experience in a service provider role.


  • CCNA/JNCIA level understanding and experience with routing and switching technologies.

  • CCNA/JNCIA level understanding and experience with routing protocols, specifically BGP, OSPF, ISIS and EIGRP.

  • CCNA/JNCIA level understanding and experience with MPLS & VPLS.

  • Intermediate understanding and experience with network monitoring platforms.

  • Intermediate understanding and experience with Unix OS and tools.

  • Intermediate understanding and experience with DNS.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Mature organization and time management skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Some travel required. Some nights/weekends required for maintenance in change management windows.

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. May substitute equivalent work-related experience for degree.


  • CCNP/JNCIP or equivalent.

  • IOS-XR, Juniper-Junos, Brocade MLXe experience.
