As a Master Mechanic, you will install, maintain, and repair all facility related equipment, machinery and physical structures. Additionally, you will work closely with the management team to plan facility maintenance operations.
Responsibilities of the Master Mechanic:
Ensure the entire facility is safe, clean, and efficiently organized per company standards
Collaborate with the Facility Manager, Assistant Maintenance Manager, and/or Maintenance Lead in planning for long-term facility operations
Adhere to all regulatory matters related to OSHA’s Process Safety and EPA managed programs under the direction of the Compliance Department
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility exterior to maximize energy efficiency
Complete visual inspections and listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment per manufacturer’s guideline
Dismantle and replace defective machines and equipment
Organize, assemble, install, and maintain plumbing systems as well as related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
Maintain and repair different components included within the ammonia and/or Freon refrigeration system
Utilize motorized lift and rental equipment as needed while operating, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining equipment
Monitor contractors working on or near refrigeration systems to ensure they are following all company safety policies and meeting work standards
Complete and evaluate daily logs pertaining to the temperature, pressure, and general operation of the refrigeration system
Required Qualifications of the Master Mechanic:
Completed High School diploma or GED
2+ years of mechanical experience maintaining rolling stock (MHE), warehouse, processing, and/or manufacturing equipment
2+ years of plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience
2+ years of ammonia and/or Freon refrigeration experience or a combination of experience and trade school diploma
