Buckner International Director of Marketing in Dallas, Texas

BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide leadership, management and direction for all marketing for Buckner International, its subsidiaries and affiliates. Responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that promote the purpose and mission of Buckner International, its subsidiaries and affiliates.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

Develop and implement a comprehensive annual marketing plan for Buckner based on the ministry priorities set forth by the leadership of Buckner International. Serve with the Vice President of Communications and the Associate Vice President of Public Relations as the primary brand managers for all Buckner brands. Oversee the planning and execution of all print and electronic advertising related to Buckner ministries and programs. Develop and oversee Buckner’s “Brand Ambassador” program. Plan, coordinate and oversee all cause marketing for Buckner International. Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive foster care and adoption recruitment annual plan developed by the assistant director of marketing. Oversee the use of social networking tools for the marketing of all Buckner brands. Work with the Associate Vice President of Public Relations to provide consultation for the Buckner websites and to promote the sites. Manage and/or consult about Buckner web pages directly related to marketing initiatives. Develop the annual strategic marketing plan for ‘Shoes for Orphan Souls’ in conjunction with the director of Shoes for Orphan Souls and assist in the implementation of the plan. Serve with the Vice President of Communications and Vice President of Public Relations on the Buckner crisis communications team. Fulfill writing assignments for Buckner publications, both print and electronic, as needed. Assist in project management assignments as needed by the Public Relations Department. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Buckner staff, Board members, donors/prospects, foundations, corporations and other stakeholders as necessary and instrumental to the garnering of funds for Buckner programs. Promote positive internal relationships with all Buckner staff. Work as a productive and cooperating member of Buckner International team to attain established goals and objectives of Buckner International. Develop and manage budget effectively. Manage program resources to ensure they are used efficiently and appropriately. Source, hire, supervise, monitor, evaluate and provide direction to direct reports. Provide professional growth and development; develop and communicate goals and objectives. Monitor and provide constructive feedback; conduct annual performance evaluations. Assist, guide and support supervisors with employee selection, review, evaluation and terminations. Conduct staff meetings, both group and individual, regularly; attend and participate in staff meetings, leadership meetings, conferences, and training as required. Serve as a change agent to lead President’s change agenda according to Buckner’s mission, vision, and values. Support the Vice President of Communications as needed. Liaison to community; speak in public on behalf of Buckner. Responsible for supporting and representing Buckner at special events, activities and other assigned functions. Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements. Travel domestically and internationally as needed. Perform general office tasks as required. Accurately prepare and proofread letters, memos, spreadsheets and other correspondence daily; answer phones, take messages and respond to voicemail and email messages timely. Review and accurately process mail and other correspondence daily. Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required. POSITION EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:

Requires in-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge as evidenced by the attainment of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study required. A minimum of 5 years prior related experience working in a marketing and media relations department that supports comprehensive and wide-ranging programs preferred. Prior related managerial experience preferred. Requires prior demonstrated successful experience in the following aspects of marketing- media relations, brand management, and social media. Requires proficient working knowledge of marketing laws and regulations governing the agency and its employees. Requires proficient understanding of project management, process design and procedures development and continuous improvement. Requires proficient ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions dealing with abstract variables. Requires in-depth understanding of Buckner International’s mission, vision, values, priorities and the various types of social service programs Buckner provides; in-depth understanding of Buckner Foundation’s mission, vision, values, and funding priorities required. Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English professionally. Requires a strong sense of diplomacy and demonstrated success in developing strong collaborative relationships with organizational peers and outside colleagues. Requires ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings. Requires recognized ability to meet multiple deadlines by maintaining a high level of organization. Requires demonstrated strong analytical skills, including an ability to synthesize large amounts of information and to focus quickly on the essence of an issue; strong commitment to producing measurable results. Requires ability to travel to various geographic locations, both domestic and international, and some overnight stays. Requires ability to obtain and maintain the necessary documentation to travel internationally. Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Requires ability to rent vehicles both domestically and internationally using required documentation. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner. Requires ability to maintain confidentiality. Requires proficient ability to exhibit detail-oriented skills necessary to understand and manage a wide-range of information. Requires in-depth ability to plan, administer, and report budgets. Requires proficient working knowledge of budgetary management, financial process controls and development of policies and procedures. Requires ability to effectively manage personnel; requires administrative skills to include but not limited to staff selection, development, motivation, scheduling, and evaluation. Proficient working knowledge and ability to accurately and timely operate and perform computer related tasks with specific equipment and software applications, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook, required. Requires proficient working knowledge of Razors Edge software. Requires professional commitment to Christian principles and teachings so as to perform tasks and responsibilities in alignment with Buckner’s mission, vision, and values. Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds continuously to move objects. Requires ability to walk frequently; occasionally stand for prolonged periods of time; occasionally required to squat, climb stairs, kneel and twist. Required to sit for prolonged periods of time, including extensive airline travel. Requires ability to speak clearly and make self understood in face-to face interactions; to articulate with extreme accuracy and precisions to give directions speak on the phone, etc. Requires ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Requires ability to effectively work under pressure and remain flexible as priorities change; ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing and speak in front of groups. Requires ability to work under minimal supervision; exercise sound judgment and confidentiality. Requires sufficient good health to properly discharge duties.
