Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Business Enablement, Corporate Functions Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Developer.

The Developer is responsible for the full development life-cycle process that translates business requirements into functioning software systems, services and solutions aligned to the enterprise standards. This role will require a strong knowledge of application development, database design, systems implementation and crafting technical solutions to complex business needs.

The Developer must synthesize requirements information from the business and develop comprehensive functional/technical requirements and design requirements that will be shared with vendors. This roll (often times working with vendor resources) will develop technical products that will be validated, reviewed and tested. The best candidates will be highly technical professionals experienced in developing full-stack cloud native applications and have a good understanding of the DevOps concepts. Candidates should also have a strong financial systems background and experience with application/domain as a strong plus.

Reporting to the Digital Factory Owner the person in this role will support the Business Enablement, Corporate Functions department's objective

What you’ll be doing

  • Help determine feasibility, requirement impact on systems, and work estimates based on business request

  • Lead technical requirements and design sessions with BSAs, Developers, QA testers from the project team and other delivery workstreams and vendors (if applicable)

  • Create sequence and architectural diagrams, database schema (if applicable), and system requirement specification documents

  • Develop codes or configure system to meet business and system requirements

  • Review test cases and test plan to ensure that requirements have been met by the project delivery team

  • Review and approve system documentation as changes/enhancements are deployed to ensure accuracy

  • Provide oversight on production support including working with the technical teams to develop root cause analysis, and communicating resolution to the stakeholders and end users

  • Supervise and provide guidance to Developers on the team

  • Act as liaison with the vendors, development teams and business users to create and finalize end-to-end technical solutions

What you bring

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science degree (or higher)

  • Experience with architecture, tuning and debugging distributed systems

  • Experience with Cloud architecture and Cloud native application

  • Demonstrated success as a Developer on both large and small projects

  • Familiar with project management and agile/scrum principles

  • Demonstrated continued knowledge acquisition of emerging technologies

  • Ability to work independently, with strong organizational and flexibility skills in a team-oriented environment

  • Experience in Cloud technology, preferably AWS

  • Programming Languages: Java, AngularJS or any other JS framework

  • Database Experience: PostgreSQL, RDS, DynamoDB and/or MongoDB

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with leadership and all levels of associates

Added bonus if you have

  • AWS Certification

  • Certified Architect or Certified Developer

  • Financial systems background

  • Functional knowledge on Accounting and Tax Domain
