Job Description

Responsible for production and support leadership for the Visualization Immersive Reality Lab (VIRL). This is a temporary position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors in Visualization

  • Two years of program administration experience.

  • Demonstrated understanding of artistic production and exhibition practice. Demonstrated communication abilities, such as through successful teaching or mentoring. Demonstrated experience in research and innovative problem solving.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Knowledge in physical computing, installation fabrication techniques, digital interactivity, 3d modeling and animation. Proficiencies in visualization software/tools such as: Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, MaxMSP, Unity, Unreal Engine, GoogleVR, HTC VIVE. Also required, programming proficiencies in: C, C++, C#, Processing, Javascript, Python, HTML.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • MFA in Visualization

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates efforts of VIRL staff in daily operations.

  • Investigates new creative approaches to interactive and immersive experiences.

  • Directs integration of new techniques and tools.

  • Performs long range planning for improvements in function and technology to meet needs of academic programs.

  • Prepares cost and personnel estimates on proposed projects. Other duties as required
