facilitate through ambiguity. Responsible for responding accurately and timely to all internal reimbursement request from other business units. Typically determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
Ability to read and interpret payer contracts and apply them to the collection process. Ability to interpret information. Ability to verbalize knowledge and understanding of insurance coverage dependent on payer assignment i.e. major medical, PBM, Medicare, Medicaid. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications: Requires broad training in fields such as pharmacy, revenue cycle management, durable medical equipment (DME), home infusion , or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree Program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of 8-10 years experience with Revenue Cycle Management, Contracting, DME, and Home Infusion. Pharmacy/Specialty Pharmacy experience strongly preferred. Strong experience with commercial, government and pharmacy payers. Root cause analyses skills. Excellent knowledge and experience with contracts, appeals, recoupments, offset, and forwarding balance. Superior communication skills, both oral and written, ability to write formal letters of appeal. Advanced organizational skills; attention to detail. Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong negotiating skills Advanced knowledge of HCPCS, NDC, CPT, ICD 9 AND ICD10 coding preferred. Knowledge of EDI formats: 837,835,276/277, etc. Proficient knowledge of accounting principles, pharmacy operations, and medical claims.
