Southwest Key Programs Strategic Partnerships Coordinator in Brownsville, Texas
The Strategic Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of initiatives that elevate and positively impact Southwest Key Programs. This role will be responsible for implementing a communications strategy in his/her region, supporting our staff and the successful delivery of our services. This individual will have both internal and external responsibilities, generating support for our work in the community, as well as leading internal outreach and employee engagement strategies. This individual is responsible for generating big ideas, action plans and setting monthly goals designed to keep the public informed on matters of public interest. This position will require some travel and will report to the Director of Strategic Partnerships while working closely with the Communications team.
Conceptualizing, developing and leading the implementation of strategic ideas to increase public awareness of program activities and accomplishments
Passion for developing engaging content for social media, Southwest Key website, newsletters, employee profiles and other distribution channels, ensuring all messaging aligns with key business strategies
Determine best practices for improving internal communications to all stakeholders shareholders and implementing research to measure the various strategies' results
Advanced writing and editing skills, able to present ideas with clarity and vision
Producing a master schedule of activities and accomplishments, leveraging the input of needed departments to align to greater organizational efforts
Networking and building deep, value-based relationships with partners to maximize understanding of Southwest Key’s mission
Coordinate the management of ongoing relationships with existing partners and where relevant, leverage those relationships to greater collective impact
Create and oversee a relationship management program, including prospecting, solicitation, pipeline, cultivation, and partner stewardship
Establishing a community outreach network comprised of internal staff and external stakeholders in the community to support initiatives
Regular interaction with operational leaders in the field to identify opportunities to tell the story of our work, translating into interesting and engaging language for the general public
Work with the management team to establish priorities for strengthened interactions with funders, clients and community leaders to support program activities and accomplishments
Prepare presentations, initiate meetings and develop collateral to report progress to program leadership and key headquarters staff
Plan and carryout special events
Collaborate with regional HR leaders to support employee attraction and retention efforts
Act as an ambassador of the organization to publicize the work of Southwest Key Programs for internal and external purposes
Work independently to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and be responsible for contributing to and developing business strategies
Promote evolution of operational tools
Proactively stay up-to-date on trends, best practices, and education
Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as necessary and assigned
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus five years’ work-related experience; or 10 years’ experience in communications and related work
Experience in community leadership and/or community organizing
5 years of supervision and staff management experience
Outstanding interpersonal communications
Strong written and oral communications, planning and organizing
A familiarity and passion for civic engagement and social equity issues
Proven experience in implementing organization-wide programs across multiple locations a plus
Proven analytical quantitative, negotiation, and decision-making abilities in order to meet our goals
Highly adaptable self-starter
Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of work station and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Must be able to travel approximately 25 -50% of time. Work schedule is subject to change. Noise levels vary from mild to moderate. This position may require extended periods of time in an automobile, train or airplane. Exposed to prevalent weather conditions.
