Do you want to be part of a high performing team that will help take the Solution Engineering team to the next level? We’re building an exciting new group focused on helping customers understand the capabilities and value of our solutions across areas such as data management, cybersecurity, integration, application architectures, machine learning, and analytics.
Oracle is seeking candidates for a Senior Manager of a new team of early career professionals. This team of Solution Engineers will work directly with Oracle Sales, prospects, and existing customers throughout the sales cycle. Key activities of this team will include designing and delivering on proofs-of-concept, building and leading customer workshops, and delivering customer presentations and product demonstrations.
This team will be charged with becoming an engine of innovation – supporting our license solutions across multiple deployment architectures – including cloud, hybrid or multi-cloud, and on-premises. The team will cover multiple solution areas and work closely with customers to realize the most value from their investment in Oracle.
Lead discussions with Oracle Customers, including C-Suite executives
Partner with customers to help them realize the maximum value from their investment in Oracle
Own and progress opportunities through the qualification, definition, proof/evaluation, proposal, and closure stages of the sales cycle with attention to timelines
Engage with Oracle Sales Representatives and prospects to help present the best possible Oracle solutions to meet the needs and requirements of our customers
Define Proof of Concept (POC) / Proof of value (POV) or custom demonstrations to map our capabilities to the needs/requirements of our prospects
Lead a team of Solution Engineers on the execution of POCs/POVs and custom demos. Ensure the demonstrations fulfill the requirements of our prospects and differentiate Oracle’s capabilities
Act as a technical liaison to prospects, customers, and partners
Establish trusted relationships with customers and prospects to understand their objectives. Solicit and provide product feedback from customers and prospects
Participate in meetings and conferences with customers and partners to serve as a liaison between Oracle internal organizations such as Technical Support and Product Development
Work with the team to develop new innovations, including multi- and hybrid-cloud deployment architectures, industry-focused demonstrations, and solutions spanning multiple product disciplines
Work with Oracle Product Management, Sales, and Engineering to develop new programs and go to market sales plays
Guide and mentor the Solution Engineers on your team
Perform performance reviews and regular assessments to assist with the career development of direct reports
Functional Skills Required:
Leadership experience with Solution Engineering teams, driving deal closure with technical wins
A Demonstrated ability to present functional business processes and challenges into technology solutions to executive levels with a focus on solution selling
Broad background in Enterprise IT
Significant executive-level presentation experience
Technical Skills Required:
Wide knowledge of the Information Technology market and trends
Knowledge of the Oracle stack, including data management, cybersecurity, integration, application architectures, machine learning, and analytics
Knowledge of key competitors
Some database administration knowledge – especially Oracle Database Administration and competency with SQL
- Ability to travel as appropriate on a moderate basis (50%)
Preferred fields of study:
Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related degree.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sales cycle.
As part of the Oracle sales team you will direct and manage pre-sales resources throughout the sales cycle. Provides technical/functional leadership to the sales team in the development and implementation of customer applications and customer products. Participates in account planning and strategy development. May publishes technical information of specific applications and/or technical articles. Works with management to define new products. Serves as the company liaison on specific technical projects with customers.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate business needs. Knowledge of software industry relating to all aspects of ebusiness solutions. Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong presentation skills. Ability to travel as needed. BA/BS degree or equivalent.
