As a Software Engineer Enablement Practitioner for our Pivotal Transformation, you will travel to Dell’s global sites and act as a subject matter expert (SME) while doing hands on development work and allowing others to pair with you so they learn (this is the enablement process). When not enabling new team members, this role could call for you to deliver learning workshops and bootcamps about Pivotal’s methodologies and deliver other stakeholder meetings to drive this knowledge across our organization. You will feel like you are working in a start-up with the stability and knowledge of one of the best technology companies in the world.
In the Digital Transformation Program you’ll work closely with other developers, product designers, product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to achieve the design objectives for each concept. This transformation program has three primary goals:
Establish a modern, global, cloud-based, software development company -- You are a key player in creating a new culture that changes people, technologies and processes aligned with Pivotal practices
Enable new capabilities and experiences that include, but are not limited to, personalized mobile & web purchasing, AR driven sales and support, voice-enabled purchase assistance, and support for Internet of Things (IoT)
Empower and enable new team members to use the Pivotal Methodologies to develop these new capabilities
We need your deep knowledge and experience in software development methodologies such as test driven development, pair programming and agile; along with your experience in Enterprise level software development and proven abilities to innovate, be creative and work well in a collaborative work environment.
Perform these responsibilities at Dell sites globally while you pair with another team member so they learn:
Develop high availability and highly scalable applications which will be used by both internal and external customers
Work with clients and Business Analysts to determine software requirements and system impacts
Generate technical documentation as well as unit and functional tests
Analyze business requirements, processes, data, and system integration points to determine/recommend appropriate technology solutions
Work closely with the global development team, senior Solution Architects, and executives within the Online Product Engineering group to plan ongoing feature development, product maintenance, and management of development teams
-Mentor more junior team members
-Influence decisions, lead discussions and present information to business leaders and stakeholders
8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science/Engineering (or 6+ years with a Master’s degree, or 3+ years with a PhD, OR may consider equivalent additional relevant experience).
Experience to include:
Demonstrated experience and strong commitment to writing and maintaining high quality code ( Java, .net, etc )
Understanding of Spring Framework fundamentals
Solid understanding of Microsoft Stack
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment (pair programming)
Approximately 50% travel as part of a subject matter expert team, some international travel
