Ascension Health RN-Registered Nurse Float-Labor and Delivery in Austin, Texas

We Are Hiring

Position is in network float pool. Will support expansion of perinatal services and float across sites to Post-partum, Mother-Baby units. Candidates need 2 years of experience working in an Post-partum, Mother-Baby unit and must have the ability to quickly build rapport with a variety of teams to effectively provide patient care. Units vary from smaller units who are expanding and adding deliveries to a busier, high risk unit providing more complex care.

Will work three 12-hour night shifts per week, every other weekend, and 2 major and 3 minor holidays per year. Will schedule in advance on six-week schedule.

What You Will Do

Provide direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.

  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serve as a coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assess and coordinate patient's care needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.

  • Advanced Life Support preferred.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
