_Position Summary_: Responsible for monitoring, evaluating and making recommendations to assure the appropriate and effective use of pharmaceuticals for patient care. Pharmaceutical care should be provided in accordance with the standards of pharmacy practice, and in compliance with departmental guidelines and state and federal regulations under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant of the objectives of the hospital.Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
_Education and Experience:_ Required: *Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university or PharmD *Preferred: Previous hospital pharmacy experience
_Licenses and Certifications:_ Required: Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Pharmacist * Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage workload. Ability to effectively communicates clearly and concisely with hospital staff, department heads, administration, and medical staff. Ability to work independently and in a team environment to problem solve issues. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of national patient safety initiatives by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures as required by both HCA and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.
Preferred: Knowledge of MediTech, Pyxis, DoseEdge, Abacus TPN software, Microsoft Office,MedComm.
