Dell Lead Specialist, Prod Data Mgmt in Austin, Texas

An Offer Manager will lead and deliver operational efforts that manage all aspects of product data from product inception through launch and beyond within Dell’s product data management systems. They work directly with, and manage inputs from, other functional areas within Dell including Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Pricing, Demand/Supply, and others to provide guidance and create alignment on new and existing products, potential offers, and launch strategies within Dell’s product data management systems. In addition, an Offer Manager directly leads project management efforts across different products to implement current, and establish new, offer management policies, processes and procedures in support of cross-functional requirements across hardware, software, and peripheral components. They also uphold, maintain, and establish product data governance including global alignment of customer offer types across company sales catalogs and control of offer stability and product data volumes. This role directly supports company market goals, initiatives, and revenue targets by delivering complete, accurate order codes on-time to internal Sales representatives and Dell’s online customers.

  • ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinates activities in support of different commodities with all relevant business partners to coordinate needed product data activities and establish accurate product release timelines.

  • Prioritizes, executes, and communicates product data change requests for new product launches and existing products throughout the product’s lifecycle along with ensuring all relevant and appropriate approvals are in place.

  • Methodically directs product data change control activities by researching, analyzing and validating product data in accordance with product data guidelines, specifications, documentation and alerts to ensure valid product data information is released.

  • Minimizes the amounts of requests associated with product data edits while new product launches are Work-in-Process (WIP) through improved communication around product status and following up with customers.

  • Validates, processes and verifies all product data is compliant with customer expectations e.g. Marketing, Pricing, Online Teams, Engineering, etc.

  • Ensures data integrity does not fall below established departmental expectations, objectives, and baselines.

  • Ensures Engineering change requests complete, accurate, and in accordance to Configuration Management and Product Group documentation standards prior to review and final approval for distribution.

  • Provides metrics to track performance against departmental expectations, objectives, and baselines.

  • Validates expected deliverables through product audits.
