What is Security Products Group at OCI?

OCI Security Products Group is building

comprehensive product portfolios to protect customers’ cloud environments with

innovative approaches and hyperscale efficiency. Our core security pillars are:

customer isolation, data encryption, security controls, visibility. Our vision

is to build the most secure cloud environment for our customers to build their

applications confidently on top of OCI. We are making strategic decision to

heavily invest on detecting system vulnerabilities and threat activities,

correlate and analyze problems, then remediate, notify and block attacks from

malicious actors against customer cloud environment.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for consulting engineers with

strong technical leadership and large scale distributed system architect,

design and development experience throughout the entire product lifecycle. You

should have experience with architecture design of major services and launching

them into production. You’ve operated high-scale services and understand how to

make them more resilient. You work on most projects and tasks independently and

provide technical leadership to the organization. You have experience working

with services that require data to travel long distances, but have to abide by

compliance and regulations.

The ideal candidate will be technically strong

and get a lot done - you’ve worked on services that are highly available,

scalable, and redundant. You understand that simple systems are easier to

operate and troubleshoot. You can balance speed and quality with iteration and

incremental improvements. You’ve made life easier for other developers and have

motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements with your

ability to automate and instrument properly to get the right data. You

understand operational excellence and how to instill a culture of being

proactive with your teammates. You proactively find anomalies in graphs that

didn’t trip any alarms and root cause problems before they become real

problems.

The person in this role will get a lot done on

a daily basis, drive tactical execution of features and projects, and own

feature design.

The biggest challenges for the team are

reliability, performance and keep up in cybersecurity space. The dynamic and

fast growth of the business is driving us to improve the ability of our systems

to scale out and handle traffic patterns with full coverage that are several

orders of magnitude greater than what we can support today.

We understand that software is living and

needs investment. The challenge is making the right tradeoffs, communicating

those decisions effectively, and crisp execution.

We need engineers who can build services that

can reliably protect our customer cloud environment. We need engineers who can

figure out how we can keep up our solution in a fast pace to securely protect

our customers. We need engineers who can build services that enable us to offer

even more options to customers and contribute to the overall growth of Oracle

Cloud.

Required Qualifications

• 12 years distributedservice engineering experience in software design and development

• Experienced atbuilding highly available services, possessing knowledge of micro-servicedesign patterns and service-to-service communication protocols

• Experience drivingarchitecture and security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working withProduct Managers through the entire launch process

• Take initiative andownership for delivering complex software system by working effectively withthe teams and other stakeholders

• Hands-on experiencebuilding and operating entire systems and services

• Proficient in Java, C ,C#, or similar OO languages

• Good understanding ofdatabases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.

• Experience buildingmulti-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developingservices on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle)

• Experience workingwith internal customers and translating requests into prioritized work orfeatures

• Expertise in applyingthreat modeling or other risk identification techniques to develop securitysolutions

• Experience andunderstanding of Cryptograph, DDoS, CVE, CIS, SAST, DAST, or similar securityand compliance knowledge

• Experience workingwith large enterprise customers

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
