LCRA HR Business Partner - Senior in Austin, Texas

The human resources business partners also serve a key role within the HR team, strategically connecting activities across various HR functions and helping the HR team keep a pulse on business initiatives.
LCRA’s senior human resources business partner will be engaging, collaborative, have excellent discernment, be adept at building productive relationships, effectively balance creativity with practicality when developing business solutions, have excellent attention to detail and be passionate about helping others. Primary responsibilities include:
Providing responsive, consistent, accurate and solution-oriented human resources services and information to executives, managers and employees.
Developing strong relationships within assigned area to yield effective business partnerships.
Providing insight to human resources leadership to help ensure that HR priorities are consistent with business objectives.
Resolving complex employee relations issues and performing investigations, as well as guiding managers and employees through discipline and performance improvement processes.
Demonstrating and fostering exceptional interpersonal and communications skills.
Serving as a key resource related to the implementation of HR policies, procedures and strategies.
Proactively assessing and anticipating HR-related needs and developing solutions designed to meet those needs, being mindful to balance creativity with practicality and compliance.
Developing business acumen and maintaining awareness of business issues.
Developing and preparing reports and delivering presentations as needed to address a wide variety of business requests ranging from key strategic matters to tactical questions.
This position occasionally requires some travel to locations throughout LCRA’s service territory.

Nine or more years of experience in human resources, including three or more years of experience in employee relations or conflict resolution. A degree(s) in human resource management, business administration or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
Degree in human resource management, business administration or relevant field
HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
Strong consultative, mentoring and coaching skills
Demonstrated ability to establish credibility, trust and partnership at all levels of the organization
Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate, influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts and effectively coach both managers and employees
Advanced communication skills, including verbal and written to all levels of the organization
Experience developing compliant, efficient and effective HR solutions to business needs
Experience leading change initiatives in a traditionally oriented operating environment
Experience using PeopleSoft
