Dell Competitive Intelligence Advisor, Product Marketing (Modern Computing Solutions Group) in Austin, Texas


  • Drive quant/qual research for offer and launch requirements, finding minimal viable segments, testing willingness to pay/propensity to buy and other marketing insights.

  • Perform win/loss analysis.

  • Develop competitive market intelligence and strategy materials for product marketing, sales, and executive leadership.

  • Proactively review competitive claims and how we meet/beat.

  • Proactively monitor current claims, develop substantiation for new claims, and work with Legal to approve.

  • Develop repository for claims and claim defense. .

  • Identify, gather, and assess key internal and external data to drive those analyses – leveraging and accessing research sources (internal and external to the firm).

  • Collaborate closely with global and regional stakeholders across Dell– business, product, sales, technology, finance, etc. – to get work done. Yet also produce high quality work independently.

  • Develop recommendations to support growth and business improvement that will have a significant impact on Dell's top and bottom lines, long-term.

  • Contribute to strategic planning process and execution/implementation

  • plans.

  • Begin to build long-term internal relationships and manage organizational stakeholders.

  • Possess personal presence, comfort, and confidence to appropriately engage with executives.

  • Engage and team with external consulting firms as and when needed.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelors' degree from a reputable university; MBA is applicable, but not required.

  • Relevant experience in comparable role ( is acceptable.

  • Very strong earnings statement analysis, valuation and analytical skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity.

  • Ability to comfortably interact with business stakeholders (management and senior executives) in a professional and mature manner.

  • Excellent technology skills with strong Excel (macros, pivot tables, look-ups and filtering), PowerPoint, and Word skills. S/he will be able to quickly learn new software applications.

  • Strong intellectual curiosity.

  • Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive.

  • Energetic and decisive, with high level of integrity.

  • Ability to multitask across several concurrent projects.

  • Comfort in and commitment to strong teamwork environment. A relationship builder, who can establish trust and credibility across Experian.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as/if required (est. 10% or less).
