Job Summary

The Office of Information Technology at UT Arlington provides premier solutions and support to our Maverick Community. We are a team of highly skilled professionals who approach our work with pride, respect and a shared sense of community. Able to work with guided supervision, provide base level technical support of the enterprise telephone system with a focus on Microsoft TEAMs VOIP deployment and familiarity with analog/digital phone provisioning. The candidate will also embrace the organizations Principles of Community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for support, analytical tasks and activities within the telecommunication system, focused on end user equipment and provisioning. Assist in the implementation, monitoring and support of a high availability enterprise level telephone system, focused on the end user equipment. Provide support in related projects and requirements. Support telecommunications equipment to ensure proper operation including upgrades, installations and troubleshooting. Help to update telecommunications procedures. Report, record, and work with departments to resolve related issues and incidents. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associates degree in information technology or a related field. One (1) year of experience in an IT environment or the equivalent experience. Working practical experience with Cisco/Juniper network equipment. Must be certified to drive UTA service vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Advanced degree in information technology or a related field and four plus (4+) years of experience in Enterprise Telecommunications or other related field. Certifications related to the duties and responsibilities specified (examples: Microsoft TEAMs certification, Juniper JNCIA). Knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of Analog/Digital telephone deployments. Knowledge of Microsoft TEAMs VOIP deployments. Team oriented. Solid communication skills. Self-motivated.
