Position Overview

The Channel Development Executive takes leadership position, within defined Sales region, by enabling growth or opening new strategic business opportunities with Partners by understanding their current business structure and providing analyzing and interpreting data to identify business challenges and opportunities; as well as formulating recommendations to help solve business issues relating to our Partners. Understands and aligns own activities to Autodesk s business model transformation strategy. At higher levels also demonstrate awareness of external industry trends and evaluate initiatives based on their fit with organizational strategies.


  • Understands key financial and non-financial indicators, draws accurate conclusions and uses them to guide actions. At higher levels also forecast the costs/revenues/risks of decisions and actions

  • Collaborates with other groups in Construction Go to Market Strategy

  • Drives annual strategic business plan, identify areas of investment and supports execution

  • Meet with assigned Partners when needed and perform an initial assessment of a problematic situation

  • Develops realistic plans with Partners, and internally, that are aligned with Autodesk s strategic objectives, identifies risks to achieving plans and creates contingencies to ensure success. At higher levels modify plans accordingly to ensure that they achieve the intended goals

  • Collects information about the client s business through a variety of methods (shadowing, interviews, surveys, reading reports etc.)

  • Analyzes and interprets data to unearth weaknesses and problems, and comprehend the causes

  • Formulates recommendations and solutions, capabilities and limitations forming concise reports to assist with execution plans for assigned Partners

  • Presents findings and suggestions to Partners and other key Autodesk stakeholders

  • Develops detailed business plans to drive small or radical changes

  • Assists Partners with implementing the plan and resolve any occasional discrepancies

  • Provides guidance for any occurring problems and issues

  • Works closely and collaborates with the assigned PM/IPM

  • Builds relationship, acts as responsible contact person for partner principals, management and respective teams

  • Understands partners business, organizational set-up and Construction Market

  • Ensures common vision between Autodesk and Partner

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12 years of experience in channel sales, business development and channel management preferably within the software industry

  • Subscription based/SAAS sales experience is desired

  • Experience selling to construction industry desired

  • Strong demonstrated business and financial acumen

  • Ability to successfully build collaborative relationships that inspire trust across the broader Autodesk business and with partners

  • Understanding of small business structure and scaling strategies

  • Ability to travel 50% globally

  • B.S. or equivalent work experience
