Baylor Scott & White Health Radiology Asst PRN in Waco, Texas

The Baylor Scott & White Health Radiology Assistant performs patient care needs and support functions associated with assisting the technologist and nurse in the performance of radiology exams and delegated medical procedures under the direct supervision of the physician. Our Radiology Assistant prepares patient and equipment for examination or procedure to facilitate efficiency. Other Radiology Assistant responsibilities include:

• Thoroughly cleans the room to make ready for the next patient and recommending terminal clean to address

patient infection control standards

• Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions

• Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving

equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors

• Operates and maintains equipment safely, maintains a clean and serviceable work environment to enhance

patient care

• Maintains an adequate inventory of equipment and supplies for assigned area and places general and special

supply orders from purchasing in a timely manner

• Assures proper patient preparation, verifies screening protocols and answers questions

• Assists patient in dressing for exam and attends to patient's physical well-being while transporting to and from

exam room and table, and positioning for exam

The ideal Radiology Assistant candidate will be detailed oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment.
