Primary job function is to be a project leader in a highly successful, production-oriented engine design and development team. Individual would provide technical leadership on engine projects spanning light-duty, medium-duty and heavy-duty applications for domestic and foreign clients with specific emphasis on Chinese clients. Includes diesel, gasoline and natural gas engines. Responsibilities would include leading or facilitating projects involving design and development of engines, interfacing with clients to define specifications and provide updates on progress, interfacing with suppliers and directing others in engine design and development teams. Individual must be an excellent communicator. Periodic travel required to meet with customers, suppliers and team members in North American, European and Asian markets. Requires a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or other engineering degree with related experience and at least a 3.0 GPA. Requires 3-20 years of engine design, engine controls, engine performance development or engine mechanical development experience with an engine manufacturer and/or consulting company. Strong knowledge of the Chinese automotive/engine industry required. OEM or engine consultancy design or development experience is required. Experience in CAD systems, controls, OBD, analysis and simulation of engines, components and systems is preferred. Must be team-oriented. Must be hands on and results oriented. Must be able to manage multiple assignments concurrently with limited supervision. Experience with leading project teams is a strong plus. Individual needs to be fluent in both English and Mandarin and have ability to translate verbal and written technical terms and concepts to and from both languages. Knowledge of Chinese business culture is a requirement. Domestic and international travel required. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
