Position: Project Manager I

Supervisor: Senior Project Manager

Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for planning, executing, scheduling, staffing and coordinating projects to meet monthly revenue goals and maintain a high level of quality. The PM is expected to be assertive, pay attention to details and have excellent leadership, communication, estimation, organization and scheduling skills. The PM must be deadline driven and have the ability to understand, track, drill-down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas in order to produce on time deliveries.

A successful candidate for this position will be a self-motivated leader that pays attention to details, works well and communicates effectively with a diverse team, learns quickly, meets deadlines and performs effectively in a stressful, time-constrained and highly regulated environment. Once selected, the candidate will practice a “continuous improvement' philosophy that develops and adopts new ideas and concepts to grow the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expedite the delivery of manufacturing projects to meet contract deadlines
  • Lead and manage multiple small teams of engineers in a hardware design and manufacturing
  • Prioritize engineering resources between multiple projects in a highly dynamic customer driven environment
  • Analyze, track and communicate project schedules and budgets and report progress to senior management
  • Effectively communicate project requirements, dependencies, priorities and progress with multiple internal departments
  • Negotiate project requirements and schedule activities with customers
  • Identify, develop and implement recovery plans for high-risk, off-schedule or unanticipated events
  • Resolve conflicts amongst customers, departments and individual contributors
  • Provide feedback regarding employee performance on a program team
  • Identify, recommend and lead process improvement projects to improve quality and on-time delivery
  • Risk management

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, business, or financial discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and processes
  • Proficient in MS Project and MS Office
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, extended periods of sitting, some bending, good vision and hearing (correction acceptable)

Considered a plus

  • Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from an ABET qualified university
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system experience
  • Regulated industry (nuclear, aerospace, medical, etc.) experience
  • Pressure or temperature sensor manufacturing experience
  • Experience in agile project management tools, engineering design, ANSI Y14.5, shop practices, quality assurance, sales, procurement, manufacturing, welding, metal fabrication, electrical fabrication and testing
