CHC Helicopter has an opportunity for aStrategic Sourcing Manager. This position is responsible for utilizing a formal strategic sourcing process and relevant tools to secure material and repair services in support of internal / external customers and operations. Accountable for defining internal needs, analyzing the supply market, developing and implementing sourcing strategies, and negotiating supply contracts. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for identifying alternate sources, developing novel strategies and creating sound business cases to support their sourcing recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage key Internal Stakeholder groups, Category Management and Maintenance in the sourcing process to ensure alignment on recommended solution

  • Analyze and manipulate multiple data streams to support sourcing strategy development; able to look across categories to ensure the full “global” opportunity is addressed

  • Develop thorough understanding of supplier’s cost to produce materials and/or deliver services

  • Review supplier financial statements to determine financial health, trends and opportunities

  • Create sound sourcing strategies taking into account the current market dynamics and assessment of likely future states

  • Consider new sourcing approaches including utilization of alternative part numbers, repair schemes, surplus markets and new sources

  • As part of managing the sourcing process, oversees the implementation of strategic outsourcing of repair parts and repair parts vendors

  • Ensure that make vs. buy analyses are performed

  • Create detailed negotiation plans in support of multi-faceted supplier negotiations

  • Manage the implementation of vendor contracts ensuring thorough hand off to Category Management

  • Expected to manage multiple projects depending on company initiatives and direction given by the Director or VP of Supply Chain

  • Motivate and inspire team members by creating an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort

  • Collaborate with Category Managers to identify and assess new sourcing projects (including the development of potential savings opportunities)

  • Work with other Strategic Sourcing Managers to prioritize sourcing project candidates

  • Accountable for the delivery of stated savings value and providing periodic project updates

  • Employees must comply with and adhere to all company policies

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

  • International travel may be required.

Qualifications & Experience:

EDUCATION:

  • Undergraduate degree required; Supply Chain or Business focus preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience i.e. logistics, supply chain, accounting, economics, financial analysis

  • Supply chain / Logistics management experience within a global environment preferred
