Navigant’s Global Construction Practice works with owners, developers, contractors, providers of capital, and their legal counsel to proactively manage risk on large capital investments through our advisory services and to forensically investigate project impacts for the resolution of claims through our dispute resolution services. Our advisory services include: program management, project financing assistance, project risk management, CPM scheduling, claims management, and business process improvement. Our dispute resolution services include: forensic scheduling, project cost/quantum analyses, and professional liability reviews. Navigant also has many qualified experts who have testified in a variety of dispute arenas, including: litigations, international arbitrations, and government contract disputes.

This is a highly challenging position that draws heavily upon all of the analytical and interpersonal skills essential to effective general strategy consulting. The ability to assume ownership of significant projects while at the same time being a part of and leading a close knit team is essential. Our consultants must organize their own tasks and schedules in carrying out substantial business analyses and delivering high quality, client-ready work. As our clients are often large, complex systems, these consultants must demonstrate considerable poise and business maturity to perform effectively and add value in the client environment.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Perform coordination of project activities and evaluation of data content and system interfaces, business process and procedures development and auditing

  • Participate in contract and subcontract strategies and implementation including form and type of agreements internally and externally

  • Perform contract audits and validation of commercial compliance with requirements of scope and associated risks within client contracts

  • Serve in an advisory capacity to client/PMO on contract management and system process and procedure inventory including data management and reporting

  • Ensure that the client’s concerns and issues have been appropriately identified and addressed to managements satisfaction. Clients include public, private, institutional, attorneys, contractors and design professionals

  • Mentor and develop junior staff through project involvement

  • Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Engineering and/or Construction Management

  • 5+ years’ experience in the Construction Industry or as an Owner Representative on Capital Projects including business development and auditing and oversight functions

  • Experience in preparation and updating contracts, procedures and work process oversight and controls (auditing)

  • Experience in Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, and/or Power markets.

  • 5 years of experience in forensic contract management and/or auditing

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills

  • Efficient, flexible, creative problem solving skills, a high level of motivation, and excellent analytical and organizational skills

  • Able to conduct/lead meetings

  • Industry Certification in auditing, cost, contracting and or project management

  • Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively

  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

  • Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently

  • Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously

  • Able to travel via airplane with minimal assistance to client sites across the US and potentially internationally

  • Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day

  • Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
