BAE Systems Software Engineer I (Entry Level) in Fort Worth, Texas

BAE Systems' F-35 Lightning II program has an exciting opportunity for a software engineer to assist in the design and development of prognostic tools for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, with respect to Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) data. The tools provides capabilities and analysis that will further aid customers in understanding software anomalies, and provide machine based decision support as to the root cause of the anomalies. Candidate will be responsible for software development activities as assigned by the project lead.

Minimum Education And Experience

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills And Education

· Software Engineer Skills

o Must understand the full lifecycle of a software development program using an Agile development methodology

o Candidate will be responsible for requirements analysis, design/mechanization, development/coding, test, maintenance, and documentation of software

o Must provide programming assistance, guidance, and expertise as necessary

· Software Development Skills

o Proficient in object-oriented design and analysis for big data applications

o Development experience using C , Java and other related programming languages

o Experience using Eclipse, Netbeans, or other similar IDEs

o Experience with Database Management Systems using Oracle and NoSQL

o Experience working with Hadoop, Spark, Map/Reduce, or similar platforms

o Experience with Distributed Systems, Multi-threaded systems, or Military systems

· Tool Development Support

o Must understand the computational and mathematic aspects of big data algorithms to communicate the operation of the algorithm to software and systems engineers for implementation

o Must have ability to collaborate with data analysts and software engineers to determine the most efficient methods to develop tools, while maintaining accuracy

· Technical Communication Skills

o Must write and speak clearly, and easily when describing complex ideas

o Must have the ability to create and maintain technical documentation using industry accepted methods
