LUCCHESE INC Collections Clerk in EL PASO, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY: Assist clients with their account status by using knowledge of basic accounting principles, excellent phone etiquette, solid communication skills, strong attention to detail, and strong sense of urgency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ensure Customers remain compliant with agreed upon payment terms and credit policies. 2. Generate and analyze aging and other accounting reports as needed to perform job duties or as requested by management. Create reporting that will enable targeted and proactive account management. 3. Review customer accounts and set-up appropriate collection methods including payment plans, holding orders, initiating collection calls and related correspondence. 4. Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales and other departments to resolve issues and respond to inquiries. 5. Maintain accurate credit and collection files for all accounts. Review and maintain files, reports, and financial information of new and existing customers. 6. Perform collection calls and take all warranted follow-up actions, including research and resolution of short payments and deductions. 7. Releases/holds customer's orders based on credit worthiness. Informs customers and sales representative of credit held orders. 8. Monthly review of aging reports to obtain status of aged significant open issues and report expected timing of resolution. Prepare and issue timely and accurate reports and answer questions concerning the contents. 9. Provide support and back up for other roles in the Credit team, as needed. 10. Perform other duties/projects as assigned by management and work as a team player to ensure success as a group. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED required. 1 year experience in a customer service setting and/or 2 year experience in Collections preferably in a manufacturing facility but not required. Other Skills and Abilities: Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral: ability to show calm and courteous phone etiquette and ability to use proper grammar and professionalism when composing emails. Must be detail oriented and demonstrate a sense of urgency when dealing with solving customers concerns or complaints. Must be able to follow verbal instructions, use accuracy, and efficiency. Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).
