Texas Health Resources Database Archiving Developer II in Dallas, Texas

Qualifications/Duties:

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Database Archiving Developer II for their Process Management QA Department.

Position Summary:

• Extracts data from applications targeted for retirement, and transforms and loads (ETL) that data into the archiving application; configures the application and creates custom search screens and reports.

• Employs Agile/Test Driven Development (TDD) for applicable projects. Develops, writes, and tests user stories. Writes code to implement requirements TDD process.

Hours:

• Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Required Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

• Will accept four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree

Required Minimum Experience:

• Two years of relevant experience

• Relevant experience applies to either relational database design, object oriented design and development, and/or software development (Java) to include:

o Software development experience using Agile methodology

o Development experience with Java based server side solutions such as JEE and Spring;

o Development experience in SQL

o Experience developing solutions using XML technologies such as XSLT, XSL-FO, XPath, XQuery

o Experience with JavaScript, AngularJS, Spring Data, and relational databases

• Preferred Info Archive Experience

Required Skills:

• Ability to work independently, think on your feet and brainstorm with the customer, triage issues, and prioritize tasks

• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, interpersonal, and time management skills

Job Responsibilities:

• Writes code in JAVA, SQL, and XML to extract data from retired applications to the archive application

• Designs, develops, and tests user stories, search screens, and custom reports

• Documents the mapping and ETL process for the archived applications

• Provides excellent customer service, manages project timelines, provides weekly status updates, and spends the time to learn new skills
