Position Summary Information
The Business Administrator II, under direction, manages the full range of business activities for a unit, including reviewing and approving business documents and developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts, unit budgets and other quantitative data.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s degree and/or professional certification in business, human resources or other related field. Experience in task management and supervisory experience.

Detailed Job Duties
Coordinates the processing and approval of all College of Science departmental payroll actions including reviewing forms and memos related to research personnel. This includes the processing or supervising of monthly and bi-weekly payrolls for Dean of Science and the Center for Math and Science personnel. Provides support to the Dean’s Office and Departmental users of the TimeTraq System.
Assists the Senior Business Administrator by serving as a resource person and liaison to the College of Science departments and institutes on fiscal, payroll, human resources, and policy and procedure interpretation issues.
Serves at the building proctor for the Blocker Building which includes coordinating communcation between building occupants and the physical plant, coordinating scheduled outages, emergency preparedness, and general maintenance of the building. Scheduling of after hour events.
Serves as the College of Science Human Resource Liaison and is the primary contact for non-faculty personnel related issues. Maintains Dean’s Office personnel files and coordinates the annual on-line evaluation process.
Serves as liaison to other TAMU offices (Texas A&M Foundation, TEES, Financial Management Operations and the Human Resources Department) and outside vendors.
Oversees accounts payable, invoicing and deposits in the Dean’s Office. Serves as cosigner of vouchers and requisitions for the college. Manages fiscal year end reporting requirements. Also manages and approves the monthly account and procurment card reconcillations. Assists in resolving accouting and billing issues for the college. Assists in providing continuous training to Business Coordinator II.
Assists the Senior Business Administrator with the annual budget submission for the College of Science. Monitoring and reporting accounts, unit budget and other quantitative data.
