Instructional Designer - Remote

We have an immediate need for an Instructional Designer to provide corporate training consulting services for our national client, a business process services company. We need someone who can analyze their training needs and provide innovative solutions for creating and implementing instructional materials and programs customized for target audiences. This is a great opportunity for a creative Instructional Designer to lead and collaborate with cross-functional learning teams (other designers, media and graphics specialists).

This is a REMOTE engagement estimated to be about 3 months in duration. Our client would prefer you reside in the Central or Eastern Time zone. Successful candidates will interact directly with client and must be creative and innovative with design strategies, while ensuring deadlines and budget estimates are met.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform consulting and front-end analysis in a corporate training environment

  • Analyze client training needs and work with clients to determine training requirements and innovative solutions for target audiences

  • Lead the instructional design processes to analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate instructional materials and programs and lead cross-functional learning teams (instructional designer, media and graphics specialists, etc.) in that process

  • Research and analyze content from a variety of industries and facilitate design sessions with key stakeholders, SMEs and project teams (both internal and client-based)

  • Utilize performance industry standards

  • Demonstrate ability to design learning to client specifications within project limitations (budget, timeline, etc.)

  • Aid in the development and adherence to project timelines, scope and level of effort-estimate and ensure the design team delivers on time as well

  • Develop Web-based learning, Instructor-led training, Virtual classroom training, Guides (such as job aids, quick reference guides, infographics) and blended solutions


  • Degree or Higher Education preferred

  • 3-5 years’ experience in curriculum development

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

  • Must be able to work both independently and in a collaborative environment

  • Employ strong people skills, including but not limited to the ability to facilitate meetings and handle both ambiguity and constant change within the team and with the client

  • Employ graphic design concepts, desktop publishing methods and working with global multimedia teams

  • Deliver on time and within an efforts-estimate budget

  • Employ strong attention to detail and quality

  • Demonstrate excellent MS Office skills
